Kingman Turquoise Necklace with Hopi Silver Pendant
Kingman turquoise
in a shade of delicious deep turquoise is intermingled with rondelles
of Mohave turquoise of lime green, also from the Kingman
mines. A Hopi silver overlay pendant dangles from the
strand. Sterling silver toggle clasp.
Kingman mines turquoise (Kingman, AZ) is highly regarded top
shelf turquoise.
Turquoise is
considered sacred in many cultures. It is protective and
grounding, and is considered the master
healing stone.
The Hopi people are well known for their wonderfully detailed and
artistic silver work. Hopi overlay is made with two sheets of silver,
with the top layer painstakingly cut out and soldered to the bottom
layer.
The necklace is just under 18 inches, the penant is 1 inch in diameter.
