The
Heart That Kissed the Sky
Handmade Turquoise Necklace
I once read that ancient Native Americans revered turquoise because it
looked like the sky. There's an old legend about a piece of turquoise
being a piece of the sky fallen to Earth.
This very special necklace is made of premium American
turquoises
and other
colorful gem stones. Rare Fox turquoise nuggets are interspersed with
Kingman Mines nuggets,
purple Sleeping Beauty turquoise chips (dyed in a special process),
green Mohave County (AZ) turquoise rondelles, round blue Sleeping
Beauty Mines turquoise, faceted red coral, faceted carnelian and purple
spiny oyster. Small Bali silver beads and clasp. The sterling silver
pendant is artisan handcrafted
by an American
silversmith.
Although Fox turquoise is rather difficult to find, a
small amount of it is mined once in a while. The old Fox mine is in
Northern Nevada.
The necklace is 16 1/4 inches long. The pendant measures 3/4 inch X 3/4
inch and drops 1 inch below the strand.
Bali Sterling silver is handcrafted by silversmiths in Indonesia and is
usually
very detailed and intricate.
