Dancing in Red

These pear shaped dazzling and sparkly faceted Mozambique garnets are such a pretty color. They are a rich red with a hint of orange. They are more translucent than "regular" red garnets.

The word for garnet comes from the Latin word "granatus", ot "pomegranate", because garnets resembles the pomegranate fruit and it's seeds.

The metaphysical significance of garnet is as a stone of empowerment and higher thinking. It is also felt that garnets are very protective of the one who wears them.

The leaves are gold vermeil (14k gold over sterling silver), the ear wires and all other metal is gold filled.

The earrings are 1.5 inch long.

One of a kind earrings.

And in case you were wondering, Mozambique garnets are found primarily in an area of Mozambique.
