Handmade Mother of Pearl and Crazy Lace Agate Necklace

Like a Rose

The beauty of this iridescent, luminous carved large mother-of-pearl pendant is matched by the vibrantly colored and patterned rose colored crazy lace agate gemstone beads. 

Faceted rondelle crazy lace agate beads have been dyed this beautiful color, making the patterns more visible. They have also gone through an additional step and have been given a soft matte finish. The beads were hand knotted by me.

Crazy lace agate is so named because of its wonderful gemstone patterns. It is also called the happy stone because it is said to bring happiness. My personal experience is that agates bring good luck.

Mother of pearl is the lining of the mollusk shell and is made of nacre, the same material as natural pearls. The iridescent and luminous quality is the result of many layers of nacre. Mother of pearl is considered to have the same metaphysical qualities as pearls - calmness, femininity, purity, among other things.

The necklace is 18 inches long and the pendant is 1 1/2 inch in diameter. All metal is sterling silver.
