Grateful Heart

A strand of knotted teal green Russian amazonite beads and light aqua amazonite beads hold a wonderful pewter pendant with the figure of a soaring bird. "Begin each day with a grateful heart" is inscribed on the back of the pendant. A wire wrapped aqua briolette dangles from the pendant. Rhinestone filigree large bead, Czech beads and a sterling silver lobster clasp.

It is said that if we approach life with an attitude of gratefulness it becomes so much sweeter.

Russian amazonite is this darker shade of green or teal often with white striatum stripes.  A shimmer or a bit of glistening can often be seen in fine amazonite. 

Amazonite is considered a calming gemstone. It also is believed to enable the one who wears it to see all sides of a situation. Amazonite is mined in many locations in the world, but not along the Amazon River as the name would imply. The lighter amazonite beads are "banded", meaning they are in light and darker shades. I decided to mix them up to make them more interesting.

The pendant is hand made at Green Girl Studios.

The necklace is 18 inches long. The pendant is 1 1/8 inch in diameter. The pendant and briolette bead drop from the strand 2 1/4 inches.
