Dangling Drops of Goodness

These delicately patterned Botswana agates are fascinating and beautiful. They dangle from faceted deep red garnets that are wrapped in sterling silver wire. Together they are wonderful gemstones in a small package.

Agates are formed by deposits of molten lava in volcanic rock, layer by layer. It takes 50 million years for agates to form. They're primarily quartz and silica. Botswana agates are only mined in Botswana in Africa. It is said that agates have a high vibration that resonates with the higher chakras.

Garnet is also a form of igneous rock. They're actually a form of hard silicate material found with other stones such as granite. They've been used in jewelry for 5,000 years. There are many different types of garnet. These are red garnet which are the most popular form of garnet. Garnet is considered a stone of commitment and red garnet represents love.

The earrings are 2-7/8 inches long. The Botswana briolettes are 3/4 inch long and about 1/2 inch wide. The garnet beads are 6mm (or about 1/4 inch) in diameter. The earwires are sterling silver.

All metal sterling silver.
