Goopi and the Clydesdales

It's just a fact of life. Like the sun comes up in the morning and sets at night. When fun things happen, you've forgotten your camera. This afternoon Rob, Goopi and I went to the Plaza here in Sonoma. We decided to see if the Clydesdales were out. Not only were they out, they were right next to the fence with their heads on our side looking for green things to munch on.Goopi, being very fond of dogs (he insists on greeting every dog who ever crosses his path), must have thought the Clydesdales were large dogs.

Sonoma Clydesdales

Just off the Plaza in downtown Sonoma is a pasture where you can usually find several beautiful Clydesdales. One of our favorite things to do is taking Goopi to see the horses. I don't know if he likes them as much as we do. He doesn't say. The horses are so beloved that the city of Sonoma bought property rights to keep the pasture as open space. The Clydesdales will be the Grand Marshals for Sonoma's July 4 parade this year.

Rhodonite - a standard favorite

Rhodonite is yet another of my favorite gemstones, especially when it has good color and is cut well. It's very feminine and versatile. I just get a good feeling from it.

The name rhodonite comes from the Greek for "rose". Rhodonite is pink to red in color and has black veins of manganese oxide. It also can be found in brown-red, mauve, and sometimes has green and yellow tinges.

Goopi the Wonder Dog!

Goopi is our dog. Isn't he cute? After Hurricane Katrina the local animal shelter organized a temporary foster program for cats and dogs who were rescued and flown here from the New Orleans area.
