Take My Rustic Blue Heart

A rustic pewter heart with a nugget of Kingman turquoise is the center point for this striking simple necklace bedecked with colorful gemstones against dark blue sodalite beads.

Unique and artistic, this necklace is perfect to wear on its own or to layer with other necklaces for extra glam. It can be worn longer or shorter with the flexibility of the sterling silver and sodalite extender chain.

This necklace is made with sodalite beads in the "star cut" shape, small carnelian beads form the loops, sterling silver small beads, Mohave green turquoise beads from the Kingman mine with a wonderful dangling nugget of Kingman turquoise that holds small pink tourmaline beads. Sterling silver lobster clasp, handmade wire wrapped extender chain.

Kingman turquoise has always been considered top shelf turquoise. The Kingman mine is now the only large source of very good quality turquoise in the US.

Sodalite was popular only in South America until the late 19th century when it was found in Canada. Since then it has become a favorite gemstone worldwide. The largest producer of sodalite is Afghanistan, but much of it is found all over the world, including several places in the US and Canada. There are also important deposits of sodalite in Brazil and Greenland.

The necklace is 15.5 inches long. The extender chain is 3 inches. The top of the pewter heart is 1 inch wide and it is 1 inch high. The Kingman Turquoise nugget is just under 1/2 inch wide and 5/8 inch high. The entire pendant ensemble is about 2 1/4 inches.

The wonderful rustic handmade pewter heart was made by the artists at Inviciti. All other metal in this necklace is sterling silver.

Limited edition necklace.
